Brazen thief turfs driver

A THIEF has stolen a car while its owner was stopped at traffic lights in Dandenong.
The Carnegie driver, 25, was at the intersection of Princes Highway and Clow Street about 8.30pm on 4 February when a man approached his white sedan and told him to get out.
Police said the terrified victim tried to pick up items from the passenger’s seat but the man grabbed him by the shirt and dragged him from the car.
The thief then got into the driver’s seat and drove about 100 metres before getting a flat left tyre, possibly from hitting a gutter.
He left the vehicle parked across the south-bound right hand lane and fled north toward Clow Street.
The thief is described as aged in his 20s and 180 to 185 centimetres tall with short or shaved brown hair and brown eyes.
He talked with an accent, possibly European, and wore blue or black tracksuit pants and a grey T-shirt.
Police urged anyone with any information related to the incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
