Candles console air tragedy loss

Bunurong Memorial Park sales manager Marnie Smith lights a candle.

ABOUT 30 people paid tribute to flight MH17 victims in Bangholme last Thursday night.
Bunurong Memorial Park hosted a service to provide time and space to reflect and mourn, and show solidarity and support for the families and friends of those killed in the tragedy.
The Malaysia Airlines flight was shot from the sky over the Ukraine on 17 July.
Celebrant Brendan McGreal conducted the service, which also included a speech from South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Gordon Rich-Phillips.
SES volunteers attended and psychologist Di McGreal spoke about managing grief.
Condolence books are available at Springvale and Dandenong libraries and at Mr Rich-Phillips’s electorate office for anyone who wants to pay their respects to the families affected by the disaster.
Messages will be passed on to the Victorian Government to be compiled into a single condolence book at a later date.
Mr Rich-Phillips’s office is at suite 1/31 Princes Highway, Dandenong, and is open during business hours.
A condolence book is also available at www.pm.gov.au/mh17-condolences.
