SPRINGVALE police helped to deliver a baby in the station car park this morning.
A Springvale couple were on their way to hospital when the labour pains became too much and they stopped at the Springvale Road station just before 9.30am.
Sergeant Max Walker, Senior Constable Peter Evans and Constable Laura Wood were working in the watch-house at the time and rushed out with towels.
They helped to deliver the baby girl, who appeared to be blue and non-responsive.
Constable Laura Wood rubbed the baby with towels to start her breathing, with phone assistance from Ambulance Victoria.
Police notified paramedics, who arrived minutes after the birth.
The couple and their baby were taken to Dandenong Hospital.
