A GOOD moon rose over Dandenong Market on Sunday as the Full Moon Festival was celebrated.
The Dandenong Market featured the best of the Chinese, Taiwanese, Singaporean, Malaysian and Vietnamese culture as part of the festival celebrating the full moon and the mid-autumn harvest.
Face painting, dream puppets and finger painting was on offer for the kids while for the older types an array of delicious cuisines kept tastebuds blazing with festival favourites such as banh bot – Vietnamese rice cakes, tofu and eggs – and moon cakes – a pastry celebration of the harvest festival full of red bean or lotus paste.
Photographer JARROD POTTER was on hand to capture the sights, sounds and – most importantly for a harvest festival – tastes of the celebrations in the heart of Dandenong.
