DANDENONG Young Adults Diabetes Service has received a state award.
The Monash Health program took out the award for Excellence in Supporting Self-Managed Healthcare at this year’s Victorian Public Healthcare Awards on 13 October.
The program helps young adults manage type one diabetes to avoid health problems and hospital stays.
It boasts a high patient attendance rate and a 17 per cent reduction in acute diabetes complications.
“These awards provide an important opportunity to celebrate health services that foster a culture of innovation and ensure Victorian patients receive the best possible care,” Health Minister David Davis said.
