THE search for a man who went missing in Keysborough today turned to a Phillip Island beach.
SES volunteers and detectives from the Cold Case and Missing Persons Squad and Dog Squad have been searching Flynn’s Beach following delivery van driver Shiva Chauhan’s disappearance last year.
The 27-year-old was seen in his delivery van at a bakery on South Park Road, Dandenong South, about 12.30am on Friday 2 May.
The rest of his deliveries were not made, and his van was seen on Hutton Road, Keysborough, about 5.40am and discovered abandoned there at 3pm that day.
Investigators now have information to suggest that Mr Chauhan might have been taken to Phillip Island in the early hours of 2 May.
They last week appealed for information about a stolen maroon 2006 Toyota Camry sedan, which might have been involved in Mr Chauhan’s disappearance.
The vehicle has the registration ULO-972 and has not yet been recovered.
Mr Chauhan is described as Indian and about 177 centimetres tall with a slim build and dark-coloured straight hair.
