A NEW $3 million factory will help a Keysborough manufacturer bring innovation to life.
Small Business, Innovation and Trade Minister Adem Somyurek officially opened the Engineered Solutions Asia Pacific (ESAP) site on 11 March.
ESAP was founded in Dandenong South three years ago to build transport equipment for the tram, bus, rail and marine industries.
The Australian-owned company has grown from 13 to 20 staff and produces emergency roof hatches, fluorescent LED lights, door systems and other components.
Clients include Bombardier, United Rail Group, Metro Trains, Queensland Rail, Yarra Trams and Dulux.
ESAP managing director Feroz Mussa said the company looked forward to developing new initiatives that would rival its previous innovations.
He said the facility reflected ESAP’s commitment to Australian-based manufacturing and providing jobs in the south-east.
“We look forward to a long and prosperous future in this new building and are enthusiastic to show our Australian and international clients what we can achieve,” he said.
Commercial director Farley Griffin said: “Being here will enable us to further enhance our research and development capabilities and better serve customers with innovative engineering and product solutions.”
ESAP generates 10 per cent of its revenue via exports and its major markets include the USA, Malaysia, Egypt, Fiji and New Zealand.
