POLICE were called to a dangerous crash in Springvale last weekend in which a car flipped into the air and caught on fire after landing on its roof.
A silver Holden Commodore was heading south on Westall Road about 3.15pm on Saturday 30 May, police said, when a white ute attempted to turn left out of the service lane from Windsor Avenue and crashed into the passing car, causing it to spin out and then flip onto its roof.
A small fire started in the car’s engine but was put out by bystanders.
The car driver was taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries but later released.
The ute driver, who was not injured in the crash, was fined for allegedly not giving way.
