A GROUP of four young males have allegedly twice mugged a person of his cigarettes and cash within minutes in Dandenong.
The three 19-year-old men and a 16-year-old boy, all of Dandenong, have been charged over the alleged robberies about 3am on 3 February.
The victim alleged he was punched in the face by one of the muggers, and robbed of his card holder, $100 cash and cigarettes by the group in Cadd Lane, Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton of Greater Dandenong CIU said.
The male, who was robbed and suffered minor injuries, then returned to his home nearby to collect more money to buy more cigarettes.
On his way back from a Coles supermarket that night, he had again encountered the gang on Lonsdale Street who took his new pack of cigarettes and $70 cash.
Det Sgt Kirton said police arrested the alleged offenders at the supermarket later that night, and the victim’s property was recovered.
The accused have been bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court and a children’s court.
