A Noble Park hospital will soon open a 60-bed mental health wing.
The South Eastern Private team showed Greater Dandenong councillors Mayor Heang Tak, Maria Sampey and Roz Blades around the under-construction facility on Tuesday 19 July.
It will focus on adult mental health and behaviour disorders, particularly mental health in the elderly, and support the hospital’s existing rehabilitation, palliative care, oncology and general medical services.
Professor David Barton will also head a new mental health research facility attached to the hospital.
Cr Blades said the developments would transform the area into a revitalised health precinct.
