A woman is now in a stable condition, after being struck by a car in Dandenong’s Little India precinct on Monday 30 January.
Police say the 32-year-old woman was standing at the rear of her parked car on Foster Street when she was struck by a westbound Mitsubishi Magna about 2.40pm.
She was taken to The Alfred hospital, and was in a critical condition at that time.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives believe the Magna was involved in several crashes on Clow and Lonsdale streets before the crash.
Harry Singh, who runs the nearby India Bazaar, said the woman had gone under the Magna – which then crashed into the back of another parked car 10 metres ahead.
Mr Singh said the woman was conscious at the time but appeared seriously injured as she was stretchered into an ambulance by paramedics.
A man and a young girl who were in the parked car at the time were uninjured.
The Magna’s 54-year-old male driver stopped at the scene and was taken to Dandenong Hospital for observation.
Foster Street was blocked for several hours between Mason Street and Dandenong railway station as Major Collision Unit detectives investigated the crash scene.
