Cranbourne West’s Hoseah Partsch has made The Voice’s top eight singers.
The 18-year-old will compete in the Channel Nine talent contest’s semi-finals on Sunday 25 June.
“Thank you to everyone around Australia and NZ and everyone around the world for the support and keeping me safe for another week,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Fans couldn’t speak highly enough of his most recent performance in the show’s live section.
Hoseah took a break from ballads and belted out up-tempo Stevie Wonder classic I Wish, starting out on the piano and making his way down a precarious flight of stairs to move with the music.
One fan said he took it to another level with the performance and dubbed him a consummate entertainer.
Another said he had “a gorgeous voice and heart to go with it, I hope we are going to see more of him on our screens after the show, we don’t really have a young soul singer like him on the Aussie scene”.
Others dubbed him “the best singer out of the lot”, “the real deal” and “talented, clever and charming”.
“I just adore this young man. I’d buy a ticket to his concert tomorrow!” one wrote.
Another said: “More than ever Australia (and the world) needs beautiful young leaders like you to teach and promote a message of love”.
The Dandenong High School Year 12 student is on coach Boy George’s team.
He said he auditioned for The Voice “for my family”.
“We’ve had a rough lifestyle growing up, my mum being a single parent with four kids,” he said.
Hoseah said he felt free when he sang. He hopes The Voice will help him attain a career in music.
