Greater Dandenong Council has a new community services director.
Mark Doubleday resigned from the role in March this year.
At the Monday 26 June council meeting, Martin Fidler was revealed as his replacement.
The council’s CEO, John Bennie, said there was an extensive recruitment process and candidates with a high level of skills and experience in the complex community services sector were invited to apply.
Mr Fidler was the council’s community well-being manager and was the acting community services director for 12 weeks.
“He is a highly skilled professional who brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge,” Mr Bennie said.
