Lyndale Secondary College’s rebuild drew attention from Education Minister James Merlino.
He visited the Dandenong North school with Dandenong MP Gabrielle Williams on Wednesday 16 August.
The State Government has so far invested $13 million to rebuild Lyndale.
Work is well underway on the school’s new STEM centre and performing arts space, with more to come.
Student leaders told Mr Merlino how important the upgrade was to them and their education.
Mr Merlino and Ms Williams also stopped by Dandenong’s Emerson School to discuss the school’s plans for the future.
They met principal John Mooney to learn about Emerson’s programs for students with intellectual processing difficulties.
Emerson School is the largest specialist school of its type in Victoria and provides a wide range of educational, therapeutic and developmental programs for students.
“Whether it be a mainstream setting or a tailored educational environment, our priority is to create opportunity for every student, and our schools are at the heart of that,” Ms Williams said.
