Bitter sweet smoke haze

A fire in a Foster Street sweets store sent elegant plumes of smoke over central Dandenong.
Journal photographer Gary Sissons spotted the blaze at Little India’s Calcutta Sweets just after 8.30am on Wednesday 16 August and captured several eerie images.
A CFA spokeswoman said that five trucks attended the scene and the crews declared the fire under control about 9.05am.
Police attended the scene for traffic control and later examined the building.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives said that the fire’s cause was not suspicious.
