Dandenong Show ticket prices have been halved this year, but the entertainment bill is as full as ever.
The Greaves Reserve gates will open at 9am on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November.
The Outback Stockman’s Show will be on all weekend, and is included in the admission price.
The show has a comedy spin and features horsemanship, crowd participation and various animals including an oversized bullock named Jigsaw.
Show times are 3.30pm, 5pm and 6.15pm Saturday and noon, 2pm and 3pm on Sunday.
Also on both days will be roving balloon twisting, pooches testing their agility and retrieval skills in the dog flyball, Wacca the gum tree drummer and Doug, a Bunnings kids’ workshop, and an animal nursery with petting area.
Community and art and craft displays will be up all weekend, from vintage machinery to painting, calligraphy, beading, finger puppets and cupcakes.
On Saturday there’ll be a GT Falcons display and in the main arena from 4pm will be gum boot throws, a great grocery giveaway and a tractor pull.
There’ll be a highland dancing competition from 11am to 4pm, fireworks at 9pm, and a FReeZA Entertainment Extravaganza from 4pm to 8.45pm.
Sunday will feature a Hot Rod Club of Victoria show and shine, Hot Saws, sheep dog and sheep shearing demonstrations, a cattle display and hand milking, and a free ‘guess the weight of the animal’ contest.
Show-goers can buy one ride ticket and get one free between 10am and noon on both show days.
Entry is $10 for adults, $5 for kids aged 6 to 16 years and free for children aged 5 years and under. Family show tickets for two adults and up to four children are available via pre-purchase for $25. Visit dandyshow.com.au/tickets.
