A man and boy have been hospitalised after their vehicle was allegedly side-swiped during a hit-run crash in Doveton.
A Commodore sedan with stolen number plates had been seen travelling erratically before it struck the victims’ vehicle on Power Road just after 3.30pm on Sunday 25 August.
Police say the Commodore then hit a tree and its male driver fled the scene. He was then picked up by someone driving an Audi.
The Audi clipped a pedestrian as it left the scene.
It was later believed to have been set on fire in Ashwood a short time later.
The 22-year-old man and five-year-old boy in the side-swiped vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au
