Three-man carjacking in Springvale

A driver has been hauled out of his seat during a car-jacking by three males on Springvale Road, Springvale.

The trio had stood in the middle of the road forcing the 46-year-old Springvale driver to stop his black Nissan Maximus sedan about 4.45am on Wednesday 18 September.

Two of the males approached the driver’s-side door, which was locked. The third male opened the front passenger door and dragged the driver out of the car.

The trio drove away in the Maximus while the victim ran for help at the nearby Waltzing Matilda Hotel.

The car was tracked via the victim’s phone in the vehicle’s door pocket to Hampton Park.

Police followed the car to Blue Gum Way before losing sight of the car.

The trio were seen jumping out of the car and over a fence into The Parkway reserve. The Canine Unit was called but lost the scent, police say.

The offenders were described as Maori appearance.

Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au or Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7487.
