Stud Road taxi dispute leads to charges

A taxi driver has been charged after allegedly driving into a passenger on Stud Road near Dandenong Basketball Stadium about 1.40am yesterday.

Police allege the 24-year-old driver, of Fawkner in the northern suburbs, was involved in a dispute with four male passengers he picked up in St Kilda and who had asked to be taken to Pakenham.

The driver was charged with recklessly causing injury, deliberately causing injury and reckless conduct endangering serious injury.

He is scheduled to appear in Dandenong Magistrates Court on August 17.
