THREE men were taken into custody after a police pursuit came to a bruising end in Dandenong South last Thursday afternoon.
A suspected stolen blue sedan was crunched between an unmarked police station wagon and a highway patrol sedan just after 4pm at the intersection of Frankston-Dandenong and Greens roads.
Two men, one with a bleeding forehead, were bundled into the back of divisional vans. Another was taken away by officers in an unmarked police car.
An eyewitness said he heard a loud bang as he was attending his truck at a nearby carpark. “There was a helicopter overhead as the police circled around the block three or four times,” he said. “Then there was a noise and I saw that a cop in the station wagon had just T-boned him.”
A police spokesman said Stop Sticks – quills that penetrate a tyre and act as valves to release air at a controlled rate – had been used to halt the sedan near the intersection.
