DINGLEY powered its way to another key Southern Football League division 1 win on Saturday, beating St Kilda City by 30 points.
The Dingoes held a slight lead at three-quarter time and that margin remained for a good part of the last term before they pulled away late, kicking six goals to two.
Dingoes coach Shane Morwood said the win showed his young side was keeping hold of its form after an inconsistent start to the season. The Dingoes’ team on Saturday featured 10 players under 21.
“In the past five games we’ve lost only one and that was by a point. After this result further belief will be entrenched into our players’ brains and we know there’s still a lot of improvement to come. Whether that will come this season or next year remains to be seen.”
Aaron Sawers, Chris Morgan and Bret Lavars were named best players for the Dingoes.
“Aaron, like the rest of our side, worked tirelessly and managed to get some ball out in the open and get clear,” Morwood said. “Morgan rucked all day. He didn’t have a break at all, which is an amazing effort.” Lavars kicked three goals.
