Nissan’s casting plant in Dandenong has exported its first batch of locally made components for electric vehicles this month.
The aluminium parts include the inverter case, inverter water jacket and water jacket cover, which will be used in Nissan LEAF vehicles made in Japan.
The plant makes more than 2 million components and accessories a year. A Nissan spokesman said the company would invest $21 million in zero-emission technology at the plant.
