Husband faces murder trial

A man accused of strangling his wife and burying her under his backyard deck will stand trial for murder. In the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Nasir Ahmadi of Ashwood pleaded not guilty to murdering Zahara Rahimzadegan. Both were involved with Cornerstone Contact Centre faith mission in Dandenong. Magistrate John Hardy remanded Ahmadi, 47, in custody and ordered him to stand trial for murder in the Victorian Supreme Court. A pre-trial hearing will take place on November 27.
