Police hunt Dandenong Plaza handbag thief

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

A WOMAN has allegedly stolen from five handbags in a series of thefts in a Dandenong Plaza female toilet.

Detective Senior Constable Amy Perrin, of Greater Dandenong CIU, said the woman distracted her victims while they were in the toilet cubicles between 10.30am-3.40pm on November 16.

The thief snatched the handbags hanging from the cubicle door hook, emptying the contents in a nearby disabled cubicle.

Detective Perrin said the woman stole cash and jewellery worth less than $1000 in total.

Police want to talk to a woman captured on the shopping centre’s CCTV in relation to the thefts.

Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Detective Perrin on 9767 7487.
