DANDENONG Plaza has made an historic farm more accessible for people with disabilities.
The shopping centre’s owner GPT held its annual community volunteering day on 30 October.
More than 20 staff from the plaza, other centres and suppliers put in pathways at the Wallara-run Sages Cottage in Baxter.
Wallara uses the historic site to provide work experience and farmyard experiences.
“Everyone is mesmerised when first introduced to Sages Cottage Farm and all it has to offer,” Wallara CEO Phil Hayes-Brown said.
“But we need more organisations like GPT to get behind us, to understand our vision for the property and what it can deliver for the people we support.
“GPT and the other donors have made a genuine contribution to helping us create a thriving, sustainable and inclusive community.”
Dandenong Plaza operations manager Andrew Scholey said the team was extremely proud to contribute to such an historic site and knew they’d really made a difference.
