Daylight robbery at knifepoint

FOUR men with a knife kicked a man in the back and stole a small amount of cash in a brazen Monday morning robbery.
A 45-year-old Carrum Downs man was walking along Lonsdale Street towards the bridge across Dandenong Creek about 8.30am on 25 February when four African men confronted him.
One produced a knife and demanded cash while another kicked the victim in the back. He handed over a small amount of cash and the attackers fled.
Detective Senior Constable Alistair Boyd said the victim went straight to the police station to report the assault.
The men were described as 190 centimetres tall. One was wearing a silver suit jacket, one was bare-chested and the others were wearing dark T-shirts.
In a separate incident, two men got off a train at Sandown railway station and walked down Lawn Road towards Heatherton Road shortly after midnight on Sunday 24 February.
A Caucasian man and four young African men approached the 17-year-old and 18-year-old near Peter Street and surrounded them.
Two of the group armed themselves with poles and demanded mobile phones.
The victims handed them over and walked away uninjured.
