AS the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) tips back into action, the stakes could not be higher for the Dandenong Rangers.
Dandenong finished 2006 on a high, winning the Michele Timms’ Cup after defeating the Bulleen Boomers on 15 December.
The win kept the Rangers in the hunt to play in this season’s WNBL finals.
This Friday night Dandenong has the chance to cement a top-four position when it takes on the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) students in Canberra.
While Dandenong faces the rigours of the road trip, AIS is on the bottom of the WNBL ladder and Dandenong could not have more motivation to record a convincing victory.
A strong win could see the Rangers move into the top four.
With Kathleen Macleod, Jenna O’Hea and Emily McInerny all hitting season-best form, Gary Fox would no doubt be pushing his side towards a momentum building victory.
Rangers set to teach AIS a lesson
