Tourist attacked

FOUR men allegedly attacked an American tourist outside a Springvale café on 16 June.
Police said the 23-year-old was involved in an argument with four men, described as Asian, outside Icy Bar on Springvale Road about 1.25am.
The altercation escalated and moved up the road to the footpath outside Café Asmara as the group attacked the tourist with a chair, belt and bottle.
He was taken to Dandenong Hospital with lacerations and bruising but released soon after.
Police are examining CCTV footage and appealing for witnesses.
“A large group gathered outside after the assault,” Greater Dandenong CIU Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said.
“Someone definitely knows who they are.”
