Home-made bombs discovered in Cranbourne East garage

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

FIVE home-made bombs were among a drugs and weapons haul found by police in a Cranbourne East residential garage last Wednesday.

During the raid, Greater Dandenong police say they found fireworks, flares, three Taser guns, a flick-knife, a knuckleduster and a sword.

A stolen motorcycle, power tools, cannabis, methylamphetamines and steroids were also recovered.

Detective Senior Constable Nick Lamb said the five explosive devices were ‘‘capable of doing significant damage’’.

A 35-year-old man was charged with drug and weapons offences. He was bailed to appear in Dandenong Magistrates Court on March 7.
