THE art of the sale will be taught to Dandenong retailers by one of the city’s best.
Ian Loft, owner of the successful Compleat Angler store in Langhorne Street, Dandenong, will take a sales seminar for members of the Dandenong Retail Traders’ Association (DRTA) next week.
DRTA chairman Roy Aspinall said the city was fortunate to have a resource like Mr Loft, who had built his fishing and angling supply store from the ground up using a good sales philosophy.
“Ian Loft has a successful business and one of the reasons for that success is the selling techniques he has armed his staff with,” Mr Aspinall said.
“And now he is passing on the selling game to fellow central Dandenong retailers.”
Mr Loft has created a handbook on selling, which is broken down into four main aspects, including product features and benefits, customer interaction, the steps of a sale and ‘asking’ for a sale.
“We are fortunate to have Ian Loft conducting this seminar at the 4 March general meeting and passing on some of his knowledge to fellow central Dandenong retailers,” Mr Aspinall said.
“I encourage all central Dandenong retailers to grab this opportunity and members of staff are welcome as well.
“All retailers are welcome at the general meeting, be they members or not, but we do hope that all retailers will eventually join.”
The Tuesday 4 March meeting will be held in the President’s Room at the Grand At Dandenong, 139-155, Thomas Street, at 6pm.
