Sing a song, it’s all part of the fun

THE DANDENONG Choral Society will be playing at the Drum Theatre later this month in a concert that is all about exploring the fun of singing.
The concert will be held on Sunday 25 May at 2pm.
Society secretary Di Christensen said Barbara Evans would be musical director and that the choir would be accompanied by Diane Fernando.
“Diane has had extensive musical experience,” Ms Christensen said.
“She teaches piano at Avila College in Mount Waverley, and has accompanied the contestants in the string section of the Dandenong Festival of Music and Art for Youth for over 15 years.”
Choral items will feature songs from Oliver, My Fair Lady, Gershwin, The Sound of Music and other famous productions. Keeping to the theme of ‘singing is fun’ will be several nursery rhymes set to some unique musical arrangements.
Chez Evans, a mezzo soprano, will join with the choir in singing Send In The Clowns, as will entertainer Bee-Bop the Clown.
“The members of the choir have been working very hard to present this concert for you, so please come and join us,” Ms Christensen said.
Tickets are available to purchase from the Drum Theatre Box Office, now and on the day.
