NOBLE Park will host a free workplace safety seminar as part of WorkSafe Week in October.
The Load Restraint For Drivers seminar will be held at Sandown Park Hotel in Noble Park on Friday 31 October at 3pm.
It will focus on the safe transport of goods and provide information and guidance on the principles of load restraint to ensure they conform with the National Transport Commission’s Load Restraint Guide.
Now in its 14th year, WorkSafe Week is being held between 27 and 31 October.
This year’s theme, “Learn the latest and stay up-to-date”, encourages people to attend one or more of the 120 free practical seminars and events being run in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Melbourne Museum is the hub of WorkSafe Week activities with more than 70 events covering a wide range of safety issues, occupations and industries, including construction, manufacturing, mining, transport, education and small business.
Activities include seminars and workshops with topics ranging from Return to Work, manual handling and consultation to young workers, fatigue and managing work-related stress.
There will also be a range of general OHS topics relevant to all Victorian employers.
In the south-eastern suburbs, three free seminars, includ-ing the Noble Park one, will be held.
WorkSafe executive director John Merritt said the aim of the WorkSafe Week seminars and events was to provide people with skills and knowledge to take back to their workplace to help keep themselves and their workmates safe.
