POLICE say they will continue to respond swiftly and thoroughly to school bomb threats despite a spate of hoaxes in recent weeks.
Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton estimated that up to 10 primary and secondary schools were evacuated in Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia in the first week of February.
He said on each occasion, schools were evacuated while police searched for any safety threats, he said.
“If further hoaxes occur in the future we will prioritise the safety of the students and schools in general.”
