Pizza attack ‘unprovoked’

By Sarah Schwager
A MAN was assaulted while sitting in a Dandenong restaurant last week in what has been described by police as an unprovoked attack.
Police said the man, in his 20s, was approached and set upon by a group of men of similar age while he was in La Porchetta, a pizza restaurant in Dandenong Plaza.
The incident happened at 7.15pm on Thursday, 27 October.
“The La Porchetta restaurant was quite busy at the time of the assault and a number of people should have witnessed what happened,” Leading Senior Constable Bradley Guy said.
He said the victim sustained a number of injuries as a result of “this seemingly unprovoked attack”.
Police said a man had been interviewed in relation to the assault and they wanted to speak with two other men involved in the incident.
Police are also asking for any witnesses to come forward.
They should contact Leading Sen Const Guy on 9767 7444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
