Hooked on books

LIBRARIES in Greater Dandenong are open longer than any other branch libraries in Australia, according to the City of Greater Dandenong.
The libraries in Springvale and Dandenong signed up more than 9000 new members in the last financial year, and along with the city’s mobile library, attracted 913,429 visits from community members. The service’s 96,425 members borrowed 1.3 million items, an increase of three per cent from the previous year.
