Anzac remembered

By Lia Bichel
ABOUT 100 people attended a Memorial Service for Anzac Day in Endeavour Hills on Tuesday.
The crowd stood in silence around the Endeavour Hills War Memorial, while the vice-president of the Dandenong RSL sub-branch, Alan Harper, recited the Anzac requiem.
Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford was the guest speaker at the event.
Wreaths were laid in memory of fallen and departed comrades and hymns were sung by the choir of St Paul Apostle South Primary School.
Amazing Grace was played by piper Alistair Wright to close the ceremony, as poppies and other floral tributes were laid.
The president, committee and members of the Dandenong-Cranbourne RSL sub-branch thanked the mayor and councillors of the City of Casey, Vernon Clarke, Alistair Wright, bugler Alan Collard from the City of Dandenong Band, Maranatha Christian School students Davina Wijesignhe and Andrew Dudley, the choir from the St Paul Apostle South Primary School, 310 Regional Cadet Unit, navy, army and air force cadets, the Australian Air League and all the members and their families who supported the ceremony.
