LEARNING how to increase sales will be the focus of the Dandenong Retail Traders Association (DRTA) meeting next week.
Guest speaker Deborah Peppard, of HR Staff ‘n’ Stuff will speak about the power of customer service and selling, and simple tools that can be implemented by businesses immediately.
Ms Peppard is an accredited HR coach, has an extensive background in retail at senior management levels and has various roles including global retail manager for Intrepid Travel, national retail manager for Bed Bath ‘n’ Table and is the state manager for Goldmark Jewellers.
DRTA chairperson Roy Aspinall said he encouraged members and non-members to attend the meeting.
“We are fortunate to have such an inspiring guest speaker as Deborah Peppard and her annual training sessions have proven a highlight of the DRT year,” he said.
“I encourage all retailers to attend and benefit from this training and your business will benefit.”
The September general meeting of the DRTA will be on 7 September at the Ramada Encore Hotel, 50 McCrae Street Dandenong starting at 6pm.
“General meetings begin at 6pm and usually conclude around 7.40pm allowing retailers to attend after they close their business and it need not be a late evening. Tea and coffee is supplied and it is a wonderful chance to network with fellow retailers.
“General meetings are a great opportunity to learn what is happening in Central Dandenong and at most meetings Victoria Police, the council and VicUrban are represented to provide information to those present and to answer queries.
“Membership of the DRTA is a wonderful way to have a say in what happens in Central Dandenong.”
