A DANDENONG CEO spent a night in the wet and cold to raise money and awareness for homelessness in Melbourne.
CEO of StandOut Group Nathan Cass took part in the St Vincent’s CEO Sleepout last Thursday night, bunking down in the cold at Etihad Stadium with hundreds of other business leaders.
“It was certainly an experience,” the 22-year-old marketing executive said.
“I woke up in the middle of the night with a numb arm and sore hips.”
“But it was only one night of the year that I didn’t get to sleep in my bed so it’s for a worthy cause.”
Mr Cass said he probably only slept for one-and-a-half hours, as he was woken up regularly due to the rain.
He even had to be woken up because his sleeping bag was getting soaked.
“I had cardboard over my head and my sleeping bag was getting poured on,” he said.
“It was raining on me and I didn’t even know.”
But it was for a good cause and Mr Cass said it was something he would do again.
Mr Cass was sponsored by clients, family and friends, raising $770, which will be donated to people experiencing homelessness.
