CARRUM United finished the Football Federation Victoria season on a low, losing 4-0 to eighth-placed Monash University in its Provisional League Division One South-East clash on Saturday.
Neither side could score before half-time in an evenly contested half but that changed dramatically after the break.
Monash opened the scoring in the 60th minute and, although desperately searching for an equaliser, Carrum conceded a second goal and then two more.
The chief destroyer was John Bucedi who scored a brace.
Carrum’s horror second-half showing was made worse with Mark Palladino sent off for a second yellow card.
Because it finished last, Carrum will be demoted to the Provisional Two South-East League for next season.
It will be joined by second-last team Rowville in Division Two.
