A FORMER Haileybury College sports ground is set to be divided up into 272 lots to form part of the Crystal Waters and College Green housing estates.
City of Greater Dandenong councillors agreed to rezone the land from rural to residential to allow the subdivision to go ahead.
But councillor Peter Brown said he would issue a notice of recision after the matter slipped his attention at last week’s council meeting.
The item was approved without council debate.
Cr Brown said he was concentrating on his speech and would have taken the opportunity to offer his opinion on the matter.
The plans for the 11.74ha development were put on public exhibition last November.
The matter was then referred to a panel appointed by the Planning Minister after objections were submitted.
The panel hearing, held on 18 and 19 May, recommended the rezoning be approved, subject to minor changes in the application.
Council’s planning staff have made the alterations and recommended to council that the matter be forwarded to the minister for final approval.
Cr Brown is expected to move to rescind that recommendation at Monday night’s council meeting at the Dandenong chambers.
