A JUSTICE of the Peace (JP) will attend Dandenong Police Station to sign legal documents and witness signatures.
The Dandenong branch of the Royal Victorian Association of Honorary Justices this week announced it would supply a Justice of the Peace on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Dandenong Police Station.
The evening roster is between 5.30pm and 8pm, on top of the JPs’10am to 3pm attendance on those same days.
“Documents which can be signed include statutory declarations, affidavits, certified true copies (must bring the original), and witnessing a signature,” the association said in a press release.
The service is free to all residents.
Last year, JPs signed 50,000 documents in Victoria.
The Dandenong Police Station is the second-busiest outlet in Victoria.
The association said a similar roster would be run at Springvale Police Station.
A JP will attend Springvale every weekday morning at 10am, until 4.30pm on Mondays, 3pm on Tuesdays, 6pm on Wednesdays, 8pm on Thursdays, and 6pm on Fridays.
