THE Vietnamese community shared their New Year spirit at the Tet Festival, held last weekend.
A crowd of about 30,000 people attended the Tet New Year Festival activities at Sandown Entertainment Centre in Noble Park.
An international food court, artistic performances and children’s rides were all part of the festivities.
Decorative food fruit sculptures including sharks and swans, along with bonzai plants, were part of the exhibits.
The festival culminated with a fireworks display on Sunday evening.
Greater Dandenong councillor Maria Sampey, who represented the mayor at the event, said the festival was credit to Phong Nguyen and the other organisers in the Vietnamese community.
“It was a tremendous success,” Cr Sampey said.
