KEYSBOROUGH Golf Club is counting down the days until its prestigious pro-am event swings into action.
A star-studded line-up will take to the course next Thursday, 18 January, as Australia’s leading professionals do battle against the impressive amateur contingent.
Headlining the professional list is Japanese Tour player Scott Laycock, Victorian Open winner David Diaz, Queensland PGA and Masters winner Cameron Percy and former US PGA Tour competitors Euan Walters and David McKenzie.
All will be confident of writing their names in the Keysborough Golf Club history books and winning a slice of the $20,000 prize money. Club director Bruce Pendlebury said several notable personalities would also be having a swing.
“We’ve got Robert Harvey, Nick Dal Santo, Brendon Goddard and Wilbur Wilde all playing,” he said. “It is going to be an exciting day of golf.”
The first tee-off is at 7.30am and the second group hits the greens at 1.30pm.
Entrance to watch the pro-am is free and Pendlebury encourages families to get to the club and get involved.
“It’s a great day, the golf is exciting and of a very high standard. It’s a good chance to see some talented golfers,” he said.
Keysborough golf course is 6.3 kilometres in length.
Entrance to the course is off Hutton Road, Keysborough. Food and refreshments will be available on the day.
