THERE won’t be any fooling around for the Dandenong Stingrays come 1 April this year.
On the day when the rest of the nation is mucking about, it will be all business for the Stingrays, who travel to Preston City Oval to clash with the Northern Knights in the first game of their TAC Cup season.
After the team won just five of 18 games last year, reappointed coach Graeme Yeats would no doubt have his new batch of up-and-coming stars ready to get back onto the winners’ board.
A victory against the Knights, who finished fifth last season, would be a great place to start.
Looking into the season, Dandenong’s first home game at Shepley Oval is going to be a tough assignment.
Playing the reigning premiers, Oakleigh Chargers, on 15 April, the Stingrays will have their work cut out as they try to assert themselves as a force early on in the year.
