WOMEN of Noble Park are being urged to pull on a pair of boxing gloves in the name of self-defence.
The Noble Park Community Centre is running a community boxing program for women interested in fitness and self-defence.
Participants will not only learn the basic boxing techniques, but the four-week program will also teach various fitness skills and focus on non-contact and non-aggressive self-defence.
The program runs on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, though attending every session is not compulsory.
At the end of the course, participants will have the opportunity to move into mainstream boxing programs if they desire.
The cost for the course is $40 and those seeking further information can contact Sue Dixon on 9547 5801.
