DANDENONG businesses shone at the annual Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame awards on Monday at a gala dinner at Crown Casino.
Advanced Polymer Technology Australia and PZ Cussons were inducted into the hall of fame.
Sandra George received the Jim Watkins award for her contribution to the manufacturing industry. Bruce Parker of HM Gem Engines received an honour roll award.
And engineering manager at Hilton Manufacturing, David Fitzpatrick, received the award for young manufacturer of the year.
State Industry Minister Martin Pakula made the presentations and said the recipients were providing inspiration to others while confronting the challenges of global financial crisis, international competition, climate change, skills shortages, and technological change.
The Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame started in 2001, and since then has inducted 99 companies, enrolled 29 members on the honour roll, and chosen six young manufacturers of the year.
