SPRINGVALE Neighbourhood House has been brightened up just in time for Christmas, with four mosaics unveiled on the building last week.
The four mosaic panels, unveiled by Greater Dandenong councillor Roz Blades and Springvale Neighbourhood House co-ordinator Samar Mougharbel, each represent a theme – harmony, freedom, diversity and peace.
Dandenong Artist Claudia Liberati facilitated the project, which gave the community the opportunity to participate in four workshops.
The workshops attempted to encourage participants to unleash their creativity through mosaics by describing their journeys in migrating to Australia and their life experiences.
Ms Liberati said the house looked very colourful and can be enjoyed by everyone when they drive, cycle or stroll past.
“I know in my heart that this project has touched the souls of this community,” she said.
