Busy bees with children’s market

THERE will be something for everyone at Dandenong’s Bumble Bee Baby and Children’s Market next week.
The market, a one-stop-shop for parents of children, will boast a range of new, used or hand-made items at low prices and children’s activities, face painting and refreshments.
Organiser Leanne Dudley said she and her husband Adam came up with the idea at the end of 2009 after travelling to similar markets in Camberwell and Berwick to shop for her daughter, Yasmin.
They thought it would be useful if people didn’t have to travel so far to purchase children’s items.
“People had to travel out of the Dandenong area to go to a babies and kids market, and many people can’t get transportation, so I thought holding one in the area would be a great idea,” she said.
Mrs Dudley held a similar market in Keysborough last month. “Everyone had a great day we received great feedback, too, from stall holders and customers. Our next market in Keysbourgh is 11 April 2010,” she said.
For a $2 entry fee, people can view the stalls which will feature an array of products including toys, clothing, books, prams, car seats, cots and much more.
The market at Dandenong will be held at Menzies Hall, Menzies Avenue, Dandenong North on 14 March from 9am until 1am.
The market will be held monthly.
To win a free stall at the market, send an email to enquiries@thebumblebees.com.au and in 25 words or less say what you love about baby and children’s markets. Entries close 10 March.
