A TRENDY new car is the latest edition to the Dandenong police station, helping to strengthen relations between police and the community.
Booran Suzuki Dandenong donated a Suzuki Swift to the Region 5 Multicultural liaison unit (MLU) to help them to carry out their duties, such as commuting to community festivals and events, pro-active policing duties and police promotional events.
The region 5 MLU, staffed by two members, aims to promote and maintain a harmonious relationship between police and the diverse multicultural community based on mutual understanding, respect, tolerance and trust.
Assistant Commissioner Luke Cornelius welcomed the donation last week.
Booran Suzuki Dandenong general sales manager Michael Woods said the Swift had several perks which would be beneficial to the MLU.
The top-of-the-range car will be exchanged for a new vehicle after two years. All maintenance will be done free of charge by Booran Suzuki Dandenong.
