Eastern Football League – round 5
LIKE Bulls in a China shop, Noble Park destroyed every effort Scoresby could mount in a 173-point belting.
With last week’s come-from-behind draw with Knox fresh in the Bulls’ minds, the rage was taken out on Scoresby – who look destined to fall from the EFL first division this season, scoring only 12.29 per cent on its opponents across its first five clashes.
Not even the weather could spare Scoresby from a lashing as Noble Park thumped home 26 goals.
The waywardness of past weeks would have perturbed coach Jon Knight – with the Bulls kicking 21 behinds to go along with its 26 majors.
The Magpies failed to swoop on a goal of their own, with a scant three behinds summing up their offensive achievements.
The goal scoring was left to the Bulls and while it would probably be easier to list who didn’t kick multiple goals, the run-and-carry of Shayne Allan (5 goals) and returned VFL midfielder Jackson Sketcher (4) stood out amongst 12 individual goal kickers.
Craig Anderson put his hand up again for best afield, shattering the Scoresby midfield, while Dan Keely, Sketcher and Piva Wright also featured in the best.
The percentage boost helps the Bulls creep up to seventh on the EFL Division 1 ladder as Noble Park heads up the hills to resume hostilities against long-time rival Vermont this week.
